How to Publish Your First RemoteApp (Local Host)

In this guide, you will learn how to configure your first RemoteApp assuming you have read the
Getting Started Guide.
This guide has been crafted for administrators like you, responsible for establishing and
configuring Thinfinity® Workspace. It is also suitable for administrators working with a previous
version.
Explore the various sections and follow the step-by-step instructions to efficiently install and
configure your first RemoteApp connection using Thinfinity Workspace 7.
Set Up a RemoteApp Connection with Workspace 7
How to Publish your First RemoteApp (Provide Access to a Single Application)
- Once you complete the installation process, open the Thinfinity® Configuration Manager.
Select the HTTP Gateway connection and click on the Browse button.
- When you click on it, you will be redirected to your default web browser, into Thinfinity®
Workspace 7’s landing page.
- Sign in.
- Click on the New Profile button
- You will be prompted to choose the type of connection you would like to establish.
There are four options to choose from:
○ Desktop
Access to a remote desktop or shared screen.
○ Application
Access to a remote app or intranet web app.
○ Web Folder
Share a folder on this PC.
○ Terminal
Access to a terminal or SSH terminal.
- Select a connection type and click Next.
*NOTE
Bear in mind that to use this configuration the machine needs to be a Windows Server X64 Bits 2003/8/12/12R2/16/19/22 with the RDS role enabled.
- Now we are able to create three types of connections:
○ RemoteApp
Will provide access to a program on your PC.
○ Application
Access to an internal or external web application.
○ Web Folder
Access a VirtualUI app installed on your PC.
- Select the option of your choice and click Next.
*NOTE
In this case, we will create a Remote App connection.
- You can create the connection to the same PC by selecting This PC (The server where Thinfinity
is installed), or to Another PC (Use this PC as a jump server for the final destination).
*NOTE
In this case, we will generate a connection to This PC.
- Insert the program path and file name.
- Select an Icon and click Next.
- At this step, you can select how you want to handle the credentials to access this resource.
- Credentials
- Use the authentication credentials.
- Ask for new credentials.
- Use these credentials.
This will allow you to connect without being prompted for credentials every time you connect,
but in this case, we are not going to use this feature.
- Click Next.
- Create a name for your profile, you can use the name on the app, in this case Notepad, then click
Done.
- A box will appear requesting you to Rollback or Commit the changes, click on Commit.
- You can open the published application by going to http://127.0.0.1:Port and clicking on the
newly created Profile.
You can now use your application on a browser via the RemoteApp functionality for
Thinfinity® Workspace.
