How to Install Thinfinity Workspace PWA on a Windows PC

Introduction

This guide is designed to easily walk you through the installation process of the Progressive Web App for Thinfinity Workspace 7.

What is a PWA?

A progressive web application (PWA) is a website that can be downloaded to your device and used like an app. A PWA can be used like any regular web page, it will also appear alongside your other apps for convenient access.


Installation

All browsers share a relatively similar installation process, however we will focus on Chrome and Edge in this guide. First we will start with the Chrome browser.

Google Chrome

      1- Open the Chrome browser on your Windows PC.


      2- Go to the Thinfinity Workspace landing page.




      3- Once the website loads, look for a screen shaped icon on the right side of the URL bar, indicating that the website can be installed as an app. It will show the message 'Install Thinfinity Remote Workspace'.
 Alternatively, you can install the PWA from the 'three dot' menu and then click 'Install Thinfinity Remote Workspace...'.


      4- Click on the icon to initiate the installation process.




      5- A dialog box will appear, asking you to confirm the installation. Click on the 'Install' button.




      6- Once the installation is complete, the Thinfinity Workspace will show as an independent app, you will also see a new icon for the PWA on your desktop and in the Start menu.




      7- Whenever you want to use it again, just double-click on the icon on your desktop to launch the Thinfinity Workspace PWA.


      8- The PWA will now open in its own window, separate from the browser. You can use it just like any other desktop application.


You have successfully installed Thinfinity Workspace PWA on your Windows PC using the Chrome browser. You can now start using your new web app as a standalone application.


Now we will do the installation for the Edge browser

Microsoft Edge

      1- Open the Edge browser on your Windows PC.


      2Go to the Thinfinity Workspace landing page.




      3- Once the website loads, look for a box shaped icon on the right side of the URL bar, indicating that the website can be installed as an app. It will show the message 'App available. Install Thinfinity Remote Workspace'.
Alternatively, you can install the PWA from the 'three dot' menu, go to 'Apps' and then click 'Install Thinfinity Remote Workspace'.


      4- Click on the icon to initiate the installation process.




      5- A dialog box will appear, asking you to confirm the installation. Click on the 'Install' button.




      6- Once the installation is complete, the Thinfinity Workspace will show as an independent app, you will also have several options to choose from as to create a desktop icon or pin the app to the taskbar, select the options you prefer and then click 'Allow', or if you do not want any of these options click 'Don't allow'.




      7Whenever you want to use it again, just double-click on the icon on your desktop to launch the Thinfinity Workspace PWA.


      8- The PWA will now open in its own window, separate from the browser. You can use it just like any other desktop application.


You have successfully installed Thinfinity Workspace PWA on your Windows PC using the Edge browser. You can now start using your new web app as a standalone application.
