How to Install Thinfinity® Workspace PWA on a Windows PC

Introduction

This article will guide you through the installation process of Thinfinity's PWA from a compatible web browser. All browsers share a relatively similar installation process; in this article, we will focus on Chrome, Edge, and Brave.

What is a PWA?

A Progressive Web App (PWA) is a web application that uses modern web technologies and techniques to provide an app-like user experience. PWAs are designed to be fast, reliable, and engaging, and they can work offline, load quickly, and send push notifications. PWA can be downloaded to your device and used like an app, it will also appear alongside your other desktop apps for convenient access.

1. Open the browser on your Windows PC and go to the Thinfinity Workspace home page.

2. Look for the installation icon to the right side of the URL bar. Click on the icon to initiate the installation process. A dialog box will appear, asking you to confirm the installation. Click on Install.

The installation icon for the PWA will only be visible if the site is recognized as trusted.  Also, it will have a slightly different design in each browser.

3. Once the installation is complete, Thinfinity Workspace PWA will be shown as an independent desktop app in a separate window; also, the corresponding PWA shortcut/icon will be available on your desktop and in the Start menu. Click Sign in to start the login process.




4. The credentials screen is displayed: Enter your credentials to access Thinfinity Workspace



Whenever you want to use it again, just double-click on the icon on your desktop. After entering your credentials, Thinfinity's PWA will open in its own window, separate from the browser and you can start using your new progressive web app as a standalone desktop application.
