Remote Desktop Session Recording with Thinfinity® Workspace

Remote Desktop Session Recording with Thinfinity® Workspace

Introduction

Imagine effortlessly reviewing remote sessions or guiding users through an application—Thinfinity Workspace turns this into a reality with session recording and playback features.

Activate this capability in the Advanced tab within your chosen access profile.

Saving Remote Workspace Sessions

  1. In the first step, open Thinfinity Workspace Configuration Manager,  and go to the Access Profile tab. Choose the RDP profile you want to record, if you don't have an RDP connection established, use the next tutorial to create a new one.

  2. Once you select the RDP connection, click Edit, go to the Advanced tab, and check the Record remote desktop session option. Then apply changes.

After checking this option, every time you connect to this profile, it will be recorded in the server, transparently to the remote user. These recorded sessions will then be available on the Recordings tab in the Addons section inside the Thinfinity Workspace interface.

Accessing Recorded Sessions

Access to the session you recorded can be granted to users and/or user groups. In the Permissions tab, you can enable users to play saved sessions by checking the Can play saved sessions option. If you select the Any option, users can play all sessions or only those recorded by themselves if you choose the Own option.

Playing Recorded Sessions

The Recording tab, shows all the available recordings according to your permissions. These session recordings can be filtered, deleted, and played from the browser.

Press Play on the left side of each row to visualize a previously saved session.
