I. Prerequisites:

  • Duo Security account with administrative access

  • Thinfinity Configuration Manager installed and accessible

  • Duo Mobile app installed on your smartphone


II. Configuring Duo Security:


  1. Log in to the Duo Admin Panel: 
    1. Go to Duo admin login page and enter your Duo credentials.
  2.  Add a New Application:
    1. Click on the "Applications" tab.
    2. Click on the "Protect an Application" button.


  • In the "Search Applications" bar, type "Web SDK" and click the "Protect" button.




      3. Gather Configuration Details:
  • On the application Settings page, locate the following items:
    • Integration Key (Client ID):
    • Secret Key (Client Secret):
    • API Hostname:




III. Configuring Thinfinity:

  1. Open Thinfinity Configuration Manager:
    1. Launch the program on your Computer.
  1. Enable Duo Authentication:
    • Click on the "Authentication" tab.
    • Click the "Add" button.
    • Select "DUO" from the list of authentication methods.



  1. Enter Duo Credentials:
    • Paste the previously obtained Integration Key, Secret Key, and API Hostname into their respective fields.



  1. Save and Apply Changes:
    • Click "OK" to save the configuration.
    • Click "Apply Changes" to implement the Duo authentication.

IV. Assigning Duo to an Authentication Method:

  1. Navigate to Authentication Methods:
    • Select the "Methods" tab in Thinfinity Configuration Manager.
  2. Edit Your Default Authentication Method:
    • Click your default authentication method (e.g., Active Directory, Google).
  3. Enable Duo 2FA:
    • On the 2FA Method dropdown select DUO


  1. Save and Apply Changes:
    • Click "OK" to save the configuration.
    • Click "Apply Changes" to implement the 2FA requirement.

V. Verifying with Duo Mobile:

  1. Log in to Thinfinity Workspace:
    • Attempt to log in to Thinfinity Workspace using your usual credentials.
  2. Duo Mobile Prompt:
    • You'll be redirected to Duo Security's website and prompted to verify your identity.


  1. Approve on Duo Mobile:
    • Open the Duo Mobile app on your smartphone.

    • If using QR code scan, scan the code displayed on the website.

    • If using passcode, enter the code displayed on the website into the Duo Mobile app.

    • Tap "Approve" to confirm your login attempt.

  2. Access Granted:
    • Once approved, you'll be granted access to the Thinfinity Workspace.

  • Remember to install and configure the Duo Mobile app on all devices you use to access Thinfinity.

  • For improved security, consider enabling Duo Push for faster and more convenient authentication.
