Session Sharing in Thinfinity Workspace

Share an Active Desktop Session with Other Users

Overview

The Share Session feature in Thinfinity Workspace lets you invite other users to view and interact with an active desktop connection. Once shared, the session is delivered to the guest's browser as a continuous mirror of your local connection — every action you take is replicated in real time on the remote viewer.

This is useful for collaborative troubleshooting, training, joint reviews of an application, or any scenario where a second person needs to see exactly what is on your remote desktop without setting up a separate connection of their own. If you are looking for a deeper alternative for managing connections, see how to create a new RDP connection in Thinfinity Workspace.

Share your remote session

Follow these steps to generate the sharing details for an active connection.

  1. Open the desktop connection you want to share.
  2. In the connection toolbar, click Actions, then select Share Session.
  3. A dialog appears showing the Sharing Address (URL) and the Password required to access the session remotely.
  4. Send the sharing URL and password to the user you want to invite. The connection remains available for remote access until you close the session.

Access a shared connection

If you are the invited user, you only need a browser to join — no Thinfinity client is required on the guest device.

  1. Open your preferred browser on any computer or device and paste the sharing address into the address bar.
  2. When prompted, type the password into the dialog and click OK.
  3. The shared session loads in the browser. You can now view and interact with the desktop alongside the original user.

Tips for safe sharing

  • Only share with trusted users — guests can interact with the session, not just observe.
  • Close the desktop connection when you are done. Ending the session invalidates the sharing URL.
