How to Upgrade from Thinfinity® Workspace v7 to v8

Warning
We recommend performing the upgrade in a testing environment before applying it to your production system.


Creating a DB backup and removing the previous version

      1. Open Task Manager and stop all Thinfinity services.




2. Create a copy of your local database located at C:\ProgramData\Cybele Software\Thinfinity\Workspace\DB and store it in secure location for recovery in case of issues.

​3. Run the Thinfinity Workspace v8 installation file, select Remove to uninstall Thinfinity Workspace v7, and click Next.



4. Confirm the system restart notification by clicking OK.



Installing Thinfinity Workspace v8

1. Install Thinfinity Workspace v8 by running the installation file once more. Accept the terms and conditions, then click Next.



2. Choose the installation type that best fits your requirements.



3. Specify the desired installation path.

4. Start the installation by clicking Install.

Notes
If you were unable to stop the services at the start of the process, you may need to restart the server after completing the installation.
