Installation & license registration
Introduction
This guide is designed to walk you through your first Thinfinity® Workspace installation. We will focus on the most streamlined installation process, which involves deploying all
components on a single server. Although this simplified installation is not recommended for
production environments, it serves as an ideal approach for testing and evaluation purposes.
This configuration allows you to establish connections to both the localhost (where Thinfinity is
installed) and other machines within the network, providing a solid foundation to explore the
capabilities of this innovative virtual desktop solution.
Download and install
2. Run the installer on the designated computer and in the first dialog of the wizard click Next.
3. Carefully read the End-User License Agreement, select I accept the terms of
the License Agreement then click Next to proceed.
4. The installation options are presented: For this example, select the default option, All Components and click Next.
- All Components: Choose this option for a standalone installation. Both a Thinfinity Services and Gateway Services installation coexist in the same computer. Also, this installation can work together with others in a Scaling and load balancing configuration.
- Broker and HTML5 Services: Choose this option to use a Scaling and load balancing configuration. A Thinfinity Services installation works together with at least one gateway installation and other Thinfinity Services installation(s).
- Reverse Gateway Only: Choose this option only if you are using a Scaling and load balancing configuration. A Gateway Services installation works together with two or more Thinfinity Services installations.
- Workspace Agent: This option allows the creation an RDP connection that doesn't require opening any inbound ports.
This versatile installer can also be used to deploy Thinfinity in load-balanced scenarios, with multiple machines that can scale across various tenants and networks. To explore advanced installation options and learn how to implement them within your organization, we encourage you to book a demo.
